Serving others

The Church is known for its emphasis on justice and on programs that challenge people to serve, to express the love of Jesus Christ to the world.   It goes without saying that children and families that learn how to serve others grow in many ways, more empathy, more awareness, more concern and more closeness to Christ.

Justice, Service, & Stewardship

Step into My Shoes (Fuller Youth Institute)
We are called to reach out to the poor, but as a family, how can we do that?    Step into My Shoes is a practical and free way for families to become more aware of how most of the world lives, to grow in compassion and to find ways to act.   The program includes well produced  videos and activities that introduce families to people in the third world in a very inviting way.

Transforming the World - Christian Practices for Everyday Life (Lifelong Faith Associates)

Serving Others (Vibrant Faith @ Home)
Vibrant Faith @ Home supports individuals and families of all ages who are intentional about their faith and religious practice as they raise the next generation of committed Christians. The resources on Vibrant Faith @ Home provides seek to equip and empower households to: talk with each other about their faith, pray together in ways that are comfortable and comforting, ritualize their important moments, and reach out in service and support of others. More than 60 faith activities are published each season -- spring, summer, fall, and winter.
