Hurrying through things

This is October 3rd (where did September go?) another day in my adventure in babysitting. I think a lot of people would say that changing diapers is one of the worst things about taking care of an infant. It is messy and stinky and, if the baby is a real hand full, can turn into a nightmare. It's not my favorite thing to do but I try to make it enjoyable somehow for Kate. I try to take my time and kid around with her. I give her a little foot rub and sing to her. I do whatever I can so it's not just a "let's get this done and over with" type of experience. Life is full of tasks that are unpleasant. The way we approach them can make all the difference. I know many people are too busy (or think they are) to slow down and enjoy what's they are doing, but I think we miss some really good things in life by hurrying through things...even the things we don't like. Kate and I actually look forward to diaper changes. See how she loves it? It's more than just another stinky diaper.
